1. Who this policy covers

Kids This Way is an activity discovery service for parents, carers and families. It is designed to help adults find children's activities across Victoria. It is not intended for children to create or manage accounts themselves.

2. Information we may handle

• Account information, such as your name, email address and sign-in identifier when you choose to create an account.
• Preferences and content, including favourites, age-group preferences, accessibility filters, reviews, photos, venue suggestions and support messages you submit.
• Location information, such as a town, suburb or postcode you search for, and device location only when you choose to grant location permission.
• Technical information, such as device, browser, security and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.

3. How information is used

We use information to operate maps and search, personalise recommendations, save favourites, review community submissions, respond to enquiries, prevent misuse, improve the service and meet legal obligations.

4. Service providers and external content

Kids This Way uses third-party services to provide features and listings. These may include OpenAI/ChatGPT Sites for hosting and sign-in, Google Maps Platform and Google Places, OpenStreetMap, and weather or geocoding providers. Those providers may process information under their own privacy policies. Some providers may process or store information outside Australia.

5. Children's privacy

Accounts are for parents and carers. Please do not submit a child's full name, precise address, school, health information or identifiable photo unless it is necessary, lawful and you have authority to do so. We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children under 13. Contact us to request removal of information relating to a child.

6. Cookies and local storage

The service and its providers may use essential cookies or similar storage for sign-in, security, favourites and preferences. We do not currently use our own targeted advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy and any required choices will be updated.

7. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal requirements and dispute resolution. We take reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

You may use general discovery features without an account. You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information associated with you, withdraw optional permissions, or make a privacy complaint. We will respond in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law.
